About the artwork: Angel
The main ability presented in Caterina Marouda’s work is that they have an authority of objective and unhindered performance. Being a color expert, as the Venetian artists of renaissance, Caterina Marouda uses it in order to create the third dimension and to enhance the subject with the use of adversative colors. The intense use of colors is balanced accomplishes to address both the human sentiment and reason.
A Blossom, my World. On the first glance, any blossom exists for itself. What could be more self-sufficient than a plant in full bloom? It managed completely without any human intervention to reach this marvellous stage of blossoming. It is ripe, full and careless, minding only the to-day. By calling it marvellous, however, I refer to my world. My world is the inner world, my secret thoughts, but also the shapes, colors, things and faces, temperatures and textures around me. I can settle anywhere. The blossom does not need my attention nor assistance, but I do seem to need the blossom in order to feel the spot of intersection of my existence with the world.
