About the artwork: ‘’Mother Earth Demetra’’ is a artwork full of the spring’s pink power, and a picture statement for this bond between the higher and humble origins of the ancient Greek earth goddess Demetra (her name meaning Mother-Earth), as also of any human being. The fruit which dominates here- engraved in the upper part of the canvas- is the pomegranate: symbol of the eternal return of the ‘Kore [Kόρη]’– daughter– fruit – seed. The lower part of the canvas, rendered with dark humid colors, is reminding of the winter time, while the upper one sparkles with a golden sunny pink light of the reborn spring nature. It is actually another big ‘maternity’ full of nature’s wisdom and the artist’s statement for a ‘proud defiantly feminine painting’.
