About the artwork

The main ability presented in Caterina Marouda’s work  is that they have an authority of objective and unhindered performance. Being a color expert, as the Venetian artists of renaissance, Caterina Marouda uses it in order to create the third dimension and to enhance the subject with the use of adversative colors. The intense  use of colors is balanced accomplishes to address both the human sentiment and reason.

My Cosmos. Some periods in life are difficult to manage, and we know the pull of familiarity that promises safety. A cosmos out there threatens me, but I can create a different cosmos that is only mine. A woman at difficult times will want to take care of herself, to realize again that she is a feminine creature, to nourish her body and skin and wrap herself into a blanket. What if women could hide in blankets of giant roses for a while whenever a shelter is needed? What if giant blossoms would be a heritage of every girl, a place she can rest and dwell, and breathe in order to return to the big cosmos after the re-encounter with herself?
