Description
About the artwork: A Greek painter Vassiliki Koskiniotou in her paintings draws her inspiration in the abounding sources of nature’s beauty and energy, but also language and poetry as one of the most significant expressions of human condition with mixed media and more often oils, oil pastels, inks and graphite, on cotton papers and handmade prepared canvases. Koskiniotou’s pictures, are usually chromatically balanced to an almost musical harmony, materializing a self-sufficient recognizable visual world. The painting “Ocean” depicts the Egg- a universal symbol representing the primordial source from which the Deity and the materials for the creation of the cosmos come into existence. Dominated by vivid blues and yellows applied with gestural verve and immediacy the painting depicts a dreamy interpretation of the sea.
